Panasonic Honorary Chairman dies at 99

OSAKA, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Masaharu Matsushita, Honorary Chairman of Japan's Panasonic Corporation died of old age at 99, the company announced on Tuesday.

According to the company, he died at a hospital in Osaka on Monday morning.

He was a son-in-law of Konosuke Matushita, the founder of Panasonic, and the second president of the Osaka-based manufacturer. He had also been a member of the board of the company since 1944, the company said.
