BEIRUT, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- The weekly report issued by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on Saturday said the number of Syrian refugees in Lebanon has almost reached the mark of 47,000.

The report said the number of registered Syrian refugees receiving aid from the UN agency, non-governmental agencies and Lebanese Ministry of Social Affairs is currently 37,240, with another 9,432 refugees waiting to be registered.

Among them, 20,364 refugees are registered with the agency in northern Lebanon, while the number of those registered in Lebanon' s eastern Bekaa valley reached 18,767.
