Syria denies death of high-level military figure in Moscow

DAMASCUS, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Syrian Information Ministry denied as baseless media reports that a senior military figure had recently died in Russia.

The ministry said in a brief statement Monday that disseminating such news falls in the framework of the psychological war against Syria.

Media reports claimed that a high-profile Syrian military figure died recently in one of Moscow's hospitals, without disclosing any information about the military officer's identity.
