MINSK, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Belarus called on the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on Friday to abolish sanctions and stop political pressure.

Belarusian First Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Mikhnevich made the call at the annual meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OSCE countries in Dublin, the Foreign Ministry told local media here on Friday. "The OSCE need to return to its initial mission, namely building the real society of security and cooperation, to overcome the crisis of confidence and the inertia of confrontation," urged Mikhnevich.

Belarusian Foreign Ministry said the head of the Belarusian delegation "spoke for the further process of reforms in the OSCE and turned attention to double standards in election observation that are still used by the OSCE."
