BEIRUT, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Hamas representative in Lebanon Ali Baraka stressed Wednesday the importance of "keeping the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and Syria away from the domestic disputes."
Baraka said in a press release that "the Palestinian refugees displaced from Syria to Lebanon are waiting for their return to Syria in a secure manner."
He called on the UN Relief and Work Agency (UNRWA) and the Lebanese government to work on providing the immediate aid for those displaced including temporary shelters.
The UN Higher Refugees Council (UNHRC) said in its latest weekly report that around 300 Palestinians residing in Syria were forced to leave their homes to the Lebanese Bekaa region due to the violence that erupted at the Yarmouk Refugees Camp in Damascus.
