At least four people have been killed and tens of others injured in a car bombing carried out near the Syrian capital city of Damascus on Thursday.
According to reports, the bomb went off on Thursday in the suburb of Sbaineh near Damascus.
The explosion reportedly rocked al-Naher Street in Sbaineh as students were heading back home.
Police sources also said that the death toll may rise.
In a similar incident on December 22, six people lost their lives and dozens more were injured after a car bomb exploded in the Syrian capital.
Syria has been the scene of deadly unrest since March 2011 and many people, including large numbers of security forces, have been killed in the violence.
Damascus says certain Western states, especially the United States, and their regional allies are fueling the turmoil.
