A Cabinet reshuffle or change of government in Egypt prior to the next parliamentary election is unlikely, President Mohamed Morsi’s press service said on Tuesday.
A “national unity government” has been a key demand of the opposition National Salvation Front backed by a Salafi party, Al Nour, calling for a technocratic Cabinet representing all major political forces.
President Morsi’s chief of staff Yasser Ali announced that a month-long state of emergency imposed in the Port Said, Ismailiyah and Suez provinces could be shortened.
