Two people, including a 14-year-old, have been injured in a shooting at Price Middle School in southeast Atlanta. The teenager was reportedly shot in the head, but not fatally.
A suspect has been taken into custody, Campos said. That suspect has tentatively been identified as a student at Price Middle School, according to police.
A teacher suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, according to an Atlanta Fire Department spokesperson. That teacher was not shot.
No other students were injured, Campos said.
The school, which is located on Benjamin Weldon Bickers Drive, was placed on lockdown as police investigated.
A school spokesperson said that the students would be released around 4 p.m. Buses were seen arriving to transport students to a nearby location, where parents would be allowed to pick their children up.
SKYFOX 5 showed concerned parents and residents gathering around the school as they waited to hear more information about the incident.
Atlanta Public Schools is scheduled to hold a news conference at 4 p.m. at the Center for Leadership and Learning.
Assistant district attorney shot dead in Texas
A manhunt is under way for two people wanted in connection with fatally shooting a Kaufman County Assistant District Attorney early Thursday morning, police say.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.
No arrests have been reported in connection with the shooting.
