WARSAW, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Poland's exports and imports of food and agricultural products totaled 28.2 billion euros (38 billion U.S. dollars) between January and November last year, Polish People's Party (PSL) politicians said on Thursday.
According to the report from Ministries of Agriculture and Economy, Poland's exports of food and agricultural products reached 16 billion euros, up 15.1 percent year-on-year. Imports of food and agricultural products totaled 12.2 billion euros, up 5.5 percent year-on-year.
Exports to EU countries grew by 12.4 percent to 12.3 billion euros. Germany was the biggest importer of Polish food and agricultural products with purchases worth 3.5 billion euros, up 11.6 percent. Britain placed second with imports worth 1.2 billion euros, up 20 percent. The Czech Republic was third place with purchases at 1 billion euros, up 6.5 percent.
Deputy Agriculture Minister Tadeusz Nalewajek stressed that Poland should try and enter far-away markets, including China and India. (1 euro = 1.34 U.S. dollars)
