MOSCOW, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Russia will continue providing humanitarian supplies for Syrian citizens in Syria and neighboring countries, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Thursday.

"Deliveries of Russian humanitarian aid for refugees from the Syrian Arab Republic who currently live in neighboring countries will continue in the near future," the ministry said on its website.

Russia will also send aid to displaced people inside Syria, it added.

On Wednesday, a Russian plane carrying 40 tons of humanitarian aid, including electric generators, blankets, folding furniture and tinned food, landed in Lebanon's capital Beirut.

Another planeload of Russian aid is expected in Jordan's capital Amman on Thursday, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, Russia brought back hundreds of Russian nationals "who wish to leave Syria" earlier this year.

Also on Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said Syria has been turning into a "center of attraction" for international terrorists.

"Syria's transformation into a center of attraction for international terrorists is becoming an alarming reality," the Interfax news agency quoted him as saying.

The Syrian conflict can and should be settled by exclusively peaceful methods through broad domestic dialogue without foreign intervention, Lukashevich said.
