BUENOS AIRES, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Leandro Paredes from Argentina's Boca Juniors will be out for at least two and a half months due to an injury caused by his partner Agustin Orion during a training session, the team's doctors said Tuesday.

The midfielder suffered "a complete break of the left ankle deltoid ligament," said the sources, which forced him to face a long recovery expected to last almost three months.

On Sunday, Paredes was injured by his partner during a training session in Buenos Aires, in a play where the goalkeeper violently kicked him when he had the ball.

In his Twitter, Orion said he had tried to take the ball out " in an unnecessary and excessive way" and apologized to Paredes.

Paredes, 19, is considered as one of Boca Juniors' promises. He plays the same position as star Juan Roman Riquelme.
