ACCRA, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Ghana national football team captain Andre Ayew is set to miss the second leg of his country's African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan on Tuesday with a muscle strain.

The Ghana Football Association revealed that the Swansea midfielder suffered the injury during a team training session last Saturday.

Ayew scored a brace last Thursday when Ghana hosted Sudan at Cape Coast in the first leg of their AFCON qualifier.

He is expected to return to his club to undergo further tests to assess the extent of his injury.

The Black Stars left Accra last Sunday to travel to Sudan for the match in Omdurman on Tuesday. Enditem
