CAIRO, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek al-Molla said on Tuesday that the total investments in the sectors of oil and gas from 2014 to 2020 hit 74 billion U.S. dollars in Egypt.

"The economic reforms have put Egypt again on the international investments map amid the country's support for developing and advancing all sectors," al-Molla said in a statement.

"Egypt has signed an unprecedented number of 98 deals with international companies for oils and gas exploration since 2014," he added.

"Egypt has carried out four important projects worth 4.6 billion dollars in the refining field to produce high-quality products which have reduced the imported petrochemicals by 35 percent," he added.

Egypt has taken important steps for shifting into an energy hub to trade gas and oil via boosting the regional cooperation in light of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum's activities, the minister said. Enditem
