Namibia to showcase potential for renewable energy, tourism at 2020 Dubai Expo

WINDHOEK, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Namibia is set to take part in the 2020 Dubai Expo, the Commissioner-General of Namibia's Expo 2020 Dubai, Nangula Uaandja said Monday.

According to Uaandja, the Namibian pavilion aims to display its natural treasures to the world and Namibia's activities will focus on showcasing the country's vast potential for renewable energy generation, unique landscapes and abundant wildlife which culminate in an incredible touristic experience, marine diamonds and mineral wealth, as well as diverse cultural heritage.

"Namibia's pavilion is structured under the theme: Preserving and Utilizing Natural Treasures for Future Generations: The Opportunity of a Lifetime," Uaandja said.

Uaandja meanwhile, said the full program for Namibia's pavilion and presence during the six-month duration of the expo will be shared on their social media pages soon.

The 2020 Dubai Expo, originally scheduled for Oct. 20, 2020 - April 10, 2021, has been postponed to Oct. 1, 2021, - March 31, 2022, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, welcoming 190 countries, plus businesses, multilateral organizations and educational establishments. Enditem
