BEIJING, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted 36 km W of Rauco, Chile at 1:52 a.m. local time on Wednesday (0452 GMT), the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 58.28 km, was initially determined to be at 34.8891 degrees south latitude and 71.709 degrees west longitude.
Rauco is an inland city in central Chile. The South American country, located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, has a long history of deadly earthquakes. Enditem
