NEW YORK, May 17 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted 279 km WSW of Adak, Alaska at 20:25:08 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 31.34 km, was initially determined to be at 51.236 degrees north latitude and 179.4676 degrees east longitude. Enditem
