NUR-SULTAN, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan's Eurasia Investment company, which produces high-quality camel and mare milk powder, is gearing up to attend the upcoming China International Import Expo (CIIE), to be held in early November in Shanghai.

"We attended last year's CIIE and found the platform very useful. We established contact with Chinese buyers at CIIE, and some have borne fruits with contracts concluded," Kairzhan Meirambekov, deputy general manager of Eurasia Investment, told Xinhua.

"This year we continue our presence at CIIE and have already sent our products to the booth. We expect to boost sales on the Chinese market through the expo," Meirambekov said.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kazakh companies have to attend the CIIE remotely, but companies have high hopes for the expo and have made meticulous preparations, Meirambekov added.

Meruert Rakhimberdieva, the company's international export manager, hailed the CIIE as the largest and most effective exhibition in the world in the field of import.

Thanks to its participation in the expo last year, the Kazakh company has since found distributors and promoted its products on the Chinese market, Rakhimberdieva said.

Despite the impact of COVID-19, the company has made several shipments of camel milk powder to the Chinese market since June and purchased new equipment to expand production capacity, she added.

The Chinese market offers a huge opportunity for the dairy industry of Kazakhstan, Rakhimberdieva said, noting that as the market size is expanding, Chinese consumers are learning more about camel milk and how it can strengthen the immune system.

Dmitry Zhukov, executive director of the QazSpirits Association, representing Kazakh beverages and alcohol producers, said that four vodka factories and one company that produces vodka and other beverages were selected to attend the CIIE.

Kazakh companies have thoroughly prepared for the CIIE. They have clearer expectations of the exhibition after attending training sessions on the Chinese market, organized by QazTrade Center for trade policy development and international consulting company PricewaterhouseCoopers, said Zhukov.

To help Chinese buyers better understand the products, company staff are ready to show the production process and warehouses via video link at any time, said Zhukov.

"We plan to meet at least 10 to 20 qualified potential partners, that is, retail and wholesale companies, and possibly sign preliminary agreement at the expo. We are also looking forward to seeking market agencies which can offer ideas and service on promoting our products on the Chinese market." Zhukov added. Enditem
