TOKYO, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks rose Thursday morning on gains in technology shares after the U.S. Nasdaq Composite Index closed at a record high overnight.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 173.42 points, or 0.66 percent, from Wednesday to 26,470.28.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, increased 7.88 points, or 0.45 percent, at 1,775.55.
Information and communication, precision instrument, and electric appliance issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break. Enditem
