PHNOM PENH, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Another Cambodian migrant worker back from Thailand tested positive for COVID-19, raising the total number of infected laborers from Thailand to 27 so far, said a Ministry of Health (MoH) statement on Monday.

The new patient is a 28-year-old woman who returned to Cambodia on Friday via a land border, the statement said.

"The result of her samples' test indicated that the woman above was positive for the COVID-19, and she is currently undergoing treatment at the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Referral Hospital," it said.

More than 12,000 migrant workers had come back to Cambodia so far after neighboring Thailand confirmed a large-scale COVID-19 outbreak in its Samut Sakhon province last month, MoH's secretary of state and spokeswoman Or Vandine said.

Since the onset of the virus in January last year until now, Cambodia has registered a total of 392 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with zero deaths and 374 recoveries, according to the MoH. Enditem
