TOKYO, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Tuesday morning as investors opted to lock in gains made earlier following Wall Street's upbeat lead overnight amid a lack of fresh incentives to chase the market higher.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 108.75 points, or 0.37 percent, from Monday to 29,554.75.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 9.07 points, or 0.48 percent, at 1,893.41.

Air transportation, marine transportation and mining-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break. Enditem
