TIRIN KOT, Afghanistan, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Three civilians were killed and four others injured as a roadside bomb struck a passenger vehicle on a road in the southern Uruzgan province on Saturday, a statement from the provincial government said.
The deadly incident took place on a road linking Uruzgan's provincial capital Tirin Kot to the neighboring Kandahar province in the morning rush hour and as a result a child and two men were killed and four others including a woman and three children injured, the statement added.
Without providing more details, the statement added that an investigation had been initiated into the gruesome incident.
Earlier on Friday night, a car bomb that rocked Kandahar's neighboring Herat city killed eight people including seven civilians and injured 54 others including 20 women and eight children, according to health officials. Enditem
