ULAN BATOR, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia will reopen its air border from May 1 to resume international passenger flights, the country's Prime Minister Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene said Thursday.
"Our country will reopen its air border from May 1. However, people who have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will be only allowed to enter the country," Oyun-Erdene told a press conference.
Mongolia suspended international passenger flights in mid-February 2020 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
As of Thursday, Mongolia has registered 12,780 COVID-19 cases, with 22 deaths. Among all patients, 8,140 have recovered from the disease.
The Asian country, with a population of around 3.3 million, reported its first imported COVID-19 case in March 2020 and confirmed its first locally transmitted case in November. Enditem
