JAKARTA, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia has administered around 12 million to 13 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, making the country included in the top 10 countries that have the most COVID-19 vaccinations in the world, a minister said.

The COVID-19 vaccination program in Indonesia is one of the government's game-changers in restoring the national economy because it is able to convince people to resume activities, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati told a meeting on a national economic recovery here Friday.

However, she added, the vaccination program does not escape unpredictable dynamics such as the delay in the arrival of the AstraZeneca vaccine produced by the British-Swedish multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company.

"We have previously had four vaccine brands, but then AstraZeneca experienced a slight delay. This is the dynamics that are unpredictable," Indrawati was quoted by Antara news agency as saying.

According to the minister, the government would make further efforts to accelerate the COVID-19 vaccination program amid the dynamic situation.

She pointed out that the government would continue to carry out structural reforms to support businesses that have been affected by the pandemic so that the demand and supply aspects can be accelerated in an effort to recover the economy.

The structural reforms carried out by the government include the existence of Law Number 2 of 2020 which makes the state budget flexible so that the government can budget up to 2,750 trillion rupiahs (some 188.4 billion U.S. dollars) this year from which 699.43 trillion rupiahs (some 47.9 billion U.S. dollars) are focused on the national economic recovery program, she said.
