Afghanistan registers 133 new COVID-19 positive cases

KABUL, April 21 (Xinhua) -- A total of 133 new COVID-19 positive cases have been registered in Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, raising the number of patients infected with the disease to 58,346 in the country, the Ministry of Public Health said in a statement released here Wednesday.

According to the statement, four patients have died over the period, bringing the number of COVID-19 related deaths to 2,561 since the outbreak of the pandemic in February last year in Afghanistan.

A total of 29 COVID-19 affected patients have recovered over the period, bringing the number of those recovered to 52,301 in the conflict-battered country, the statement added. Enditem
