Cambodia reports 2 more COVID-19 deaths, 761 new cases

PHNOM PENH, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia on Friday logged two more deaths from COVID-19 and 761 new confirmed cases in the last 24 hours, its Ministry of Health said in a statement.

The latest deceased patients were a 41-year-old Chinese man and a 55-year-old Cambodian woman, raising the national death toll to 93 from the coronavirus epidemic, the statement said.

The new infections included one imported case and 760 local cases, which included 408 reported in the capital Phnom Penh, 144 in Kandal province, 83 in Preah Sihanouk province, and 67 in Banteay Meanchey province, it said.

The imported case was reported in a 29-year-old Cambodian man who returned from Malaysia on Thursday.

An additional 166 recovered patients were recorded in the Southeast Asian nation, bringing the total number of recoveries from the COVID-19 pandemic to 5,152, according to the statement.

Cambodia has so far reported 13,402 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 8,150 active cases. Enditem
