21 drug traffickers sentenced in jail in Afghanistan

KABUL, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Twenty-one drug traffickers have been imprisoned by an Afghan court in recent days, authorities said Thursday.

The arrested people involved in 15 cases of drug trafficking have been sentenced by Central Narcotics Tribunal's primary and appellate court's open sessions during the past seven days, the Counter Narcotics Justice Center of Afghanistan (CNJC) said in a statement.

The Counter-Narcotics Police of Afghanistan (CNPA) and Afghan detective organs also confiscated 41 kg of heroin, 12 kg of morphine, and 65 kg of narcotics, including methamphetamine from the sentenced people, the statement said. Enditem
