JAKARTA, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- The leader of ISIL-affiliated militant group East Indonesia Mujahideen (MIT), Ali Kalora, has been killed during a joint operation by the Indonesian military and police in Parigi Moutong district, Central Sulawesi province.

"Some of our security forces are currently on the hunt for the remaining four MIT members in a number of locations, but we can't disclose the locations so they (the fugitives) won't run away," Central Sulawesi Police's chief Insp. Gen. Rudy Sufahriadi was quoted by local media as saying on Saturday.

Ali Kalora and one of his subordinates, Jaka Ramadhan, were fatally shot by the Madago Raya task force at around 6 p.m. local time on Saturday.

None of the security force's personnel was injured during the operation.

Both bodies were transferred and arrived at Bhayangkara Hospital in Palu city, Central Sulawesi, at around 4 a.m. on Sunday for autopsies.

Explosives, an M16 assault rifle, and two machetes with Kalora and Ramadhan were discovered.

With Kalora's death, four fugitives, namely Askar, Muklas, Hasan Pranata, and Ahmad Gazali, remain on the Indonesian Police's most wanted list.

Kalora followed the fate of his predecessor, Santoso (known as Abu Wardah) who was also killed by security forces in July 2016 in Poso, Central Sulawesi. Enditem
