Pakistani police foil terror bid, arrest 3 terrorists

ISLAMABAD, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Pakistani police foiled a major terror bid in the southwestern Balochistan province and arrested three terrorists during an operation, local media reported on Saturday.

The local media quoted CTD officials as saying that three terrorists including a suicide bomber were arrested when an intelligence-based operation was conducted by the law enforcement agencies in Turbat city of the province.

A suicide vest and a huge cache of explosive material and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the arrested militants, said the CTD officials.

Police said terrorists were planning to carry out terror activities in the province.

The militants have been shifted to an unknown location for further investigation.

Earlier, six terrorists including two commanders were killed when the Pakistani military conducted an operation in Balochistan province, according to a military statement on Friday. Enditem
