Myanmar further extends entry restrictions for 1 more month

YANGON, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday announced the further extension of entry restrictions for travelers until the end of December to curb the spread of COVID-19.

According to the announcement, the issuance of all types of visas and visa exemptions services will also be suspended until Dec. 31.

The extension will be applied to all orders, announcements, and directives previously issued by the respective union level government organizations and ministries, the committee said in the statement.

According to a release from the Ministry of Health on Tuesday, Myanmar reported 471 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the tally to 522,402.

The death toll increased to 19,104 on Tuesday after seven more deaths were reported, the release said. A total of 497,249 recovered patients have been discharged from hospitals as of Tuesday. Enditem
