LONDON, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Terrorism cops in northern England announced Wednesday night a 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged with seven terrorism offences.
Hisham Chaudhary is being held in police custody and will appear via video link before Westminster Magistrates' Court in London on Thursday.
He was arrested following an investigation led by Counter Terrorism Policing North East, supported by Counter Terrorism Policing East Midlands and Leicestershire Police.
Police said in an official statement that Chaudhary, of Great Glen, a village in Leicestershire, has been charged with four offences of disseminating a terrorist publication, one offence of proscribed organization membership, and two offences of entering a funding arrangement, contrary to anti-terrorism laws.
A 29-year-old woman from Leicester was also arrested in connection with the investigation, but police said she has been released without charge. Enditem
