SOFIA, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Bulgarian customs inspectors have seized 47.16 kg of contraband silver jewellery at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint near the border with Turkey, authorities said Monday.

The noble metal, split into 88 packets, was found after a bus traveling from Turkey to Serbia via Bulgaria went through an X-ray examination, the National Customs Agency said in a statement.

The silver products were priced at nearly 145,000 U.S. dollars, the statement said.

It was revealed that they belonged to a 60-year-old man with dual citizenship of Serbia and Turkey, it added.
