MINSK, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Belarus' gold and foreign currency reserves decreased by 7.1 percent over the first three months of 2021, the country's central bank said Wednesday.
As of April 1, Belarus' gold and foreign currency reserves amounted to 6.94 billion U.S. dollars, decreasing by 528.5 million since the beginning of the year.
The central bank explained that the decrease was a result of the fulfillment of planned obligations in foreign currency.
The Belarusian authorities predicted the volume of gold and foreign currency reserves will decrease to 6 billion by the end of 2021.
In 2020, Belarus' gold and foreign exchange reserves fell by 20.5 percent to 7.47 billion dollars. Enditem
