BELGRADE, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Citizens of all EU member countries, as well as Israel can enter Montenegro without any conditions related to COVID-19, the government decided on Friday at a meeting. It also relaxed prevention measures ahead of the tourist season.

Minister of Health Jelena Borovinic Bojovic said that the decision envisages that besides citizens of Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, North Macedonia, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, travelers from EU and Israel will be also eligible for non-conditional entry.

Moreover, weddings, prom nights, and other celebrations with up to 50 guests are once again allowed, while bars and restaurants can work from 7 a.m. to midnight. Likewise, groups of up to 50 people can attend excursions and visit sites across the country.

Prevention measures such as wearing facial masks, disinfection and hygiene remain valid, while the vaccination campaign continues.

The minister told national broadcaster RTCG that 20 percent of the country's adults are fully immunized against coronavirus.

Official data show that since May 4 when the mass immunization started, 234,278 vaccine doses have been administered in the country with a population of around 600,000.

In the past 24 hours, the country registered 41 COVID-19-related cases and four deaths.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 99,758 infections and 1,591 deaths have been confirmed in Montenegro. The number of active cases in Montenegro has been decreasing steadily since mid-March this year. Enditem
