BEIRUT, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese President Michel Aoun denied on Friday an Israeli official's allegation of Lebanon changing position seven times during the talks to demarcate maritime borders between the two countries, a statement by Lebanon's presidency said.
The statement noted that Lebanon's position on maritime border demarcation is firm.
Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz had accused Lebanon of changing its position in the border talks while warning that this could lead to a "dead end" which may damage the whole region.
Lebanon and Israel began on Oct. 14 indirect talks for maritime border demarcation. Lebanon was trying to push for an additional 1,430-sq-km area on top of the already disputed 860-sq-km area that both sides claim as located inside their respective exclusive economic zones. Enditem
