TEHRAN, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi have discussed the expansion of bilateral ties and regional cooperation, Iran's state TV reported on Tuesday.
Tehran and Amman should benefit from the existing economic and trade opportunities in the region to improve bilateral ties, Amir Abdollahian said in a telephone conversation with Safadi on Monday.
The expansion of cooperation among regional countries, particularly for Iran, Iraq, Syria and Jordan, would pave the way for economic development and regional stability, the Iranian minister said, stressing for Iran's support for regional dialogue and cooperation without foreign interference.
He also urged for regional and international cooperation to help end Israel's "occupation" of the Palestinian territories.
For his part, Safadi said his country attaches importance to its relations with Iran.
He described terrorism and extremism as common challenges for regional countries, while stressing efforts to ensure the rights of the Palestinian people. Enditem
