JERUSALEM, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas finished their summit meeting in Jerusalem on Tuesday evening.
According to local media Yedioth Ahronoth, Olmert has promised Abbas that he will do his best to prevent a humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, but he did not guarantee the opening of the Gaza crossings requested by the Palestinian side.
"The subject of postponing discussing Jerusalem to the end of the negotiations did not come up in the meeting," Olmert was quoted as saying.
