WASHINGTON, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- The 56th Inaugural Parade marking the inauguration of U.S. President Barack Obama is now under way on the Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington.

Obama, who was sworn in as the country's 44th and first African-American president around Tuesday noon, was watching the parade on the steps of the U.S. Capitol along with First Lady Michelle Obama, as well as Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill.
