SEOUL, South Korea – South Korea's Yonhap news agency says North Korea will send a delegation to the funeral of former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung.

The report Wednesday quoted Kim Dae-jung's former aide as saying North Korean officials conveyed a message about the plan.

Kim Dae-jung died Tuesday at the age of 85. He's best known for his "Sunshine Policy" of reaching out to North Korea and won a Nobel Peace Prize in 2000 for his efforts at reconciliation.

He met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Il in a historic summit in Pyongyang earlier that year. State media reported Wednesday that Kim Jong Il sent condolences to the late leader's family.
