Serbia has requested evidence used during the trial of Croatian Generals Ante Gotovina and Mladen Markac recently acquitted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.

Belgrade has condemned the acquittal and launched a probe of its own into the Operation Storm waged back in August 1995 when thousands of Serbs living in Srpska Krajina were massacred and over 220,000 displaced.

In 2011, the Generals were sentenced to 24 and 18 years in prison for crimes against humanity but this November they appealed the sentence.
