As rains continue to batter most parts of East, Central and South China, the drainage systems in many cities cannot cope with the deluge, leaving the cities soaked in lake-like conditions.
Since the flood season began, 13 provinces and autonomous regions have been hit by heavy floods. A total of over 10 million people are affected. Direct economic losses have reached 8.7 billion yuan.
