A Turkish film about the relationship between a woman and her widowed father was awarded top prize at the Shanghai International Film Festival in Shanghai late Sunday evening.
About the festival: The Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF), founded in 1993, is China's only A-category international film festival accredited by the FIAPF. The competition section includes Golden Goblet Award and Asian New Talent Award.
Mr. Tree is a dark fable on greed and guilt. It weaves the strange fate of a misfit, who could be an idiot or a seer, into the backdrop of a rural community.
