Vietnam, south China province vow to enhance economic co-op

GUANGZHOU, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Guangdong Provincial Committee Wang Yang here on Saturday, calling on concerted efforts in tiding over the global financial crisis.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said Dung's visit fully demonstrated that the Vietnamese government attached great importance to developing cooperative relations with Guangdong.

Dung conveyed congratulations to Guangdong for its steady and rapid economic growth under the circumstance of the financial crisis. He hoped the two sides further enhance mutually beneficial cooperation so as to make greater progress.

Dung will attend a Vietnam-China enterprise forum on Sunday and deliver a speech there.

Guangdong Province will sign cooperative memorandums with the Ministry of Planning and Investment and Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam on the forum. The two sides will also establish a dialogue and coordination mechanism.
