5 dead, 6 missing after fishing boat sank in Bohai Sea

A fishing boat collided with a cargo ship in the Bohai Sea early this morning and sank with 11 fishermen on board. Five were rescued but six are still missing, Xinhuanet.com reported.

The fishing boat, Liaodaganyu 15279, hit the cargo ship, Huashunda 1, at 1:04am this morning, about 35 nautical miles northeast of Chengshantou in Shandong peninsula. The fishing boat capsized immediately, Shandong Maritime Safety Bureau said.

Rescue operation in the disaster area is still ongoing, officials said.
