China's armed police enter Nepal to aid quake relief

LHASA, May 3 (Xinhua) -- China's armed police officers left southwestern Tibet Autonomous Region and entered Nepal on Sunday to aid earthquake relief there for the first time.

The operation, approved by China's central authorities, was launched after a bilateral meeting on the Chinese side of Tibet-Nepal border at the urgent request of Nepal.
