16,100 women to run Austria Women's Run 2008

VIENNA, May 7 (Xinhua) -- So far, 16,100 women have registered Austria Women's Run 2008, which surpassed last record runners number of 14,603 in 2007.

According to the website of the Austria Women's run on Wednesday (www.oesterreichischerdmfrauenlauf.at) , the 20-year-old game will be held next Sunday on May 18 in Vienna city center.

This competition is consisted with three main parts, that is, a5-km classic and international run, a 10-km run, and a 5-km NordicWalking, starting from the Vienna amusement park Pratersternallee, going through the places of interests in Vienna such as Schoenbrunn Palace and Belvedere Garden, ending in Kaiserallee in the amusement park again.

German Sabrina Mockenhaupt, who won the 5-km run last year in 15:36,6 minutes, has registered the 2008 competition again and has been regarded as No.1 seeded runner.

The Women’s international 5-km run will started at 9:45 in the morning of May 18. Runners who take buses or trains will have the right to buy a cheaper ticket.
