HANOI, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam will use the tactics of defence and counterattack in the soccer match with China on Jan. 21, the second match in the Asian Cup qualifying round, said Vietnam head coach here on Sunday.

The tactics has successfully helped Vietnam win ASEAN Football Championship, said Vietnam soccer team head coach Henrique Calisto.

Clisto and his team are leaving for China on Sunday for the upcoming match on Wednesday.

China, after losing first match in the qualifier, must beat Vietnam in Wednesday's match, said Calisto. It adds to the difficulty for Vietnam to win.

Calisto did not set the goal for the game with China, but he said he hoped each Vietnamese player could do something for the team.

Vietnam defeated Lebanon 3-1 in the first match of the qualifying round last Wednesday.

Calisto said although his team made victory, several good players got red cards and could not take part in the game with China. He is also worried about the health condition of some players in the game.

In the qualifying round of Asian Cup, Vietnam is in Group D with China, Lebanon and Syria.
