Survey: 75% of Taiwan households have Internet access

BEIJING, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Seventy-five percent of Taiwan households have Internet access, a rise of 4 percent from last year.

A survey conducted by a Taiwan-based consultancy group of more than 26,000 people showed an average of 1.5 computers for each household.

It showed 73 percent of Internet users had MSN on-line chat software, and 33 percent used on-line phone services.

Forty-five percent of users shopped online, compared with 37 percent last year, the survey showed.
