China Mobile was named the most valuable telecom brand, worth $30.8 billion, in a recent report.
According to The World's Most Valuable Mobile Telecoms Brands 2008, released by UK brand consulting company Intangible Business, China Mobile is the world's biggest mobile telecoms operator with 400 million subscribers and 20 percent annual revenue growth. Its income was nearly $50 billion in 2007.
It is followed by Britain's Vodafone, which is worth $22.1 billion in brand value. Verizon Wireless, from the US, ranked third with $20.4 billion.
The China Mobile brand was also scored highest by the panel of industry experts and had the strongest overall brand score, the report said.
The report considered comprehensive aspects including turnover, subscriptions, market share, average revenue per user and level of relative profitability of each brand.
