Indonesia's Mount Bromo spews a 700-meter high cloud of hot ash into the air.

Saturday marked the second low-level eruption in as many days.

In response, the government banned tourists from the area and increased its alert status.

"The eruption of Mount Bromo occurred at 05.09 a.m. and they are small or minor eruptions with small quakes."

About 750 km from Jakarta, the volcano is a popular site for watching sunrises.

So far, no one has been injured by the eruptions.

Indonesia has several active volcanoes and is situated in the Pacific Ring of Fire.
