BERLIN, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Police on Tuesday arrested five suspects in a German border town close to Belgium and the Netherlands for their possible connection with Paris attacks on November 13, German media reported.

Two women and a man were arrested around 9:30 a.m. local time(0830 GMT) at a job center in in Alsdorf near Germany's westernmost city Aachen, German newspaper Aachener Zeitung reported.

Police made the arrests after they were told one of the fugitives, who might be a suspect in Paris attacks, could be staying in the area, the newspaper cited a police spokesman.

The police arrested two other suspects in a separate operation in the afternoon, after being informed that these two people in Alsdorf could be connected to the attacks in Paris.

At least 129 people were killed and more than 300 others injured in the Paris terror attacks on November 13.
